Prototype Work Progresses on Sea Container Liftgate

United Patent Research client Michael M. is very pleased that a major company has decided to build a prototype of his invention in order to evaluate its potential for inclusion in their product line. Already, detailed construction drawings have been completed for the prototype. The invention, the Portable Sea Container Liftgate, is designed to facilitate the rapid and convenient loading of sea containers from cargo ships to transport trucks.

United Patent Research continues to emphasize the importance of securing intellectual property protection in the United States. UPR is, however, very aware that patent protection in foreign markets can be a valuable asset for inventors.  Two inventors working with United Patent Research have successfully attained patent pending status in China this summer. Brian B. is the inventor of the Back Jack which is an innovative backpack that can easily be converted into a combination waterproof jacket and backpack. This innovative accessory for modem based phone systems allows an alarm panel to seize all the phones in a home or business for guaranteed communication during an emergency.

A company specializing in innovative outdoor products has shown initial interest in the Open Fire/Outdoor Portocooker invented by United Patent Research clients Ernest and Betty B. After signing a proper confidentiality agreement, this company was supplied with additional information by Universal Licensing, the licensing affiliate of United Patent Research. The Open Fire/Outdoor Portocooker is a portable, outdoor, open fire grill that enables users to effectively grill food without getting dangerously close to the open fire. While this unit is great for all types of outdoor grilling, it is especially useful for the elderly, the disabled, and for individuals who have any type of physical condition which would prevent them from getting too close to an open fire.

Big Tradeshow Week for United Patent Research

This week was an exciting and promising week for United Patent Research. This week Patrick Ralston, the President of United Patent Research attended two promising tradeshows in Las Vegas. The Electronic Retailing Association D2C Convention had corporate representatives in attendance from diverse manufacturers and distributors who advance their products through electronic communication media such as television and the internet. The Super Zoo Show, on the other hand, showcased new pet related products. As inventors have come to United Patent Research with pet products ranging from unique leashes to innovative “pooper scoopers”, we are hoping that the manufacturer contact activities we engaged in at this tradeshow will prove to be a big plus for many of our clients. United Patent Research is always looking to attend tradeshows which have the potential to open the doors to success for our clients.

The process of applying for a patent usually involves considerable effort and time. It is thus a day to celebrate when an inventor finally receives an official patent certificate from the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Several inventors working with United Patent Research have recently received their official patent certificates.

In a world economy that is becoming increasingly connected and interdependent, having intellectual property protection in other nations is a definite plus.   Two United Patent Research clients have received notification that their China patent applications have been reviewed by the State Intellectual Property Office of China and have been approved for the granting of a China patent. For truck owners around the world Edward B. has conceived the Hitch Buddy. This innovative truck accessory can conveniently store up to two trailer hitches in a truck bed. This Notice of Allowance states that the United States Patent and Trademark Office has determined that the inventor’s trademark could be placed on the Patent and Trademark Office’s Principal Register. Trademark protection can be a valuable asset to an inventor as it protects the unique name of an invention.
